I try to divide people’s lives into solid states, liquid states and gas states. The solid state is an aggregate, solid, conclusive state of life; The liquid state is a state of life that is fluid, directionless and without attachments. And the gas state is transparent, light, can be everywhere life state. Just as there is no constant material in the world, each state will transform with time, and only in a general period of time, they will show their own significance.
There is no standard order for the transition of the three states. Besides the randomness, there is a slow change, which is not as fast as ice can be turned into water in a moment, which is seen by the naked eye. This process of change is more likely to describe the long transformation of human mental activity. When we subdivide the whole human being into individuals, even in the same life state, the presentation of individual feelings is very unique and irreplaceable.
Liquid is one of my recent stream-of-consciousness video works. The materials in Liquid are all recorded intentionally or unintentionally in the past one or two years. Through various forms of existence of liquid state and grotesque color rendering, I try to express the teleportation between dream and reality, combined with a poetic narration, to explain my personal more thoughts on liquid life.
